“Monday Monday…”

Ashley | January 23, 2012

“Monday, monday (ba-da ba-da-da-da)
So good to me (ba-da ba-da-da-da)
Monday mornin, it was all I hoped it would be…”

And why would that be? Because Monday’s mean Blog Post day! 🙂

This weekend was a great one, chock full of the things our team loves: Visiting with the people in our community, sharing the heart and vision for our play.

Friday evening, Cazaq himself landed at our headquarters & will be “roosting” with us until the play is over (it’s amazing how often you can make witty comments about Cazaq). The next day we immediately went to work. The Cazaq Team was at the High Desert Alliance of Black School Educators Parent Symposium, where we talked with children, parents, vendors, educators and business people from our community about the play. The response was encouraging as all we talked to were excited about the play, many telling us the would be there. The day was unanimously considered a success by the team.

Sunday we spoke at both of Hope Chapel’s (our neighborhood church) services as well as their college group. We would like to pause here, and thank Hope Chapel and their senior pastor, Pastor Sean, for embracing, encouraging and believing in this play. Their support is deeply appreciated. We also spoke at the Oasis Christian Church in the afternoon (another local church and dear friends of ours!) and introduced to them Cazaq. We also want to thank Oasis and their Pastor, Pastor Titus, for their support and lending us their people to help us!

Cazaq was received with open arms and we want to thank our friends for making him feel loved and welcomed. A memorable moment this weekend was when Cazaq (who is from Oklahoma) was speaking at Oasis. His words? “I want to thank you guys for being so loving. I’ve never experienced anything like it in the mid-west.” Truly, our community has overwhelmed us with their love, support and prayers. Each and every one of you is such an integral part of this process. No person is too small, no prayer too quiet, no word unappreciated.

So this is what makes Monday morning so enjoyable. Recounting our adventures, our joys and our triumphs with you. Because our triumphs are your triumphs.

There will be pictures of this weekend posted as soon as possible. Be sure to “Like” the Casaq The Eagle page of facebook!

To you, our friends, our fans, our family, with much love.

-The Cazaq Team
